Caelis Galería returned to JINGART Beijing 2024, held May 23–26 at the innovative SKP-S venue. At booth A25, we presented a dynamic selection of contemporary surrealist and pop art works that reflect our ongoing commitment to bridging Eastern and Western artistic dialogues.

About JINGART

JINGART is one of China’s premier contemporary art fairs, organized by the team behind ART021 Shanghai. The 2024 edition brought together leading galleries from China and around the world at SKP-S, Beijing’s cutting-edge art and fashion destination.

Featured Artists

At JINGART Beijing, we presented works by August Vilella, Juan Miguel Palacios, Javi Caboné, Jaime Sangro, Arol, Cesc Abad, and Debbie Reda.

August Vilella

Three works by Spanish contemporary surrealist rising star August Vilella: My Favorite Flower, The Kite, and Baby’s Toy. The artist continues his signature use of large eyes to observe the world, inviting us into a dreamlike, poetic space.

Juan Miguel Palacios & Javi Caboné

Moving to the works of Juan Miguel Palacios and Javi Caboné, we entered a world of color, abstraction, and surreal metaphors. Palacios’ Variations-XX and Variations-LXIII continue his philosophical exploration of existence and nothingness. Caboné’s The Show Must Go On presents his distinctive reflections on society, life, and art.

Jaime Sangro

Jaime Sangro brought works that blend wartime photographs with iconic cartoon imagery — No Parking and Air Raid. These black-and-white images from WWI and WWII are transformed with a realist approach, suggesting the determinism of adult life.

Arol, Cesc Abad & Debbie Reda

Surrealist artist Arol’s Open serves as a reminder that within the vastness of the soul, there is a unique core supporting our journey. Cesc Abad and Debbie Reda brought animal imagery to center stage — Debbie’s Jurassic Friends #3 and Cesc’s Friends and My Brothers juxtapose movement and stillness. These works reflect on the relationship between humans and nature, the boundary between reality and innocence.
